Visit of the Executive Committee to Alake on Friday July 30, 2021

The new President of the Club, Mr. Olusola Egbesola told the Alake, the Club’s Life Patron on Friday 30 July, 2021, saying that the activities of the Club must be a continuum.

President Olusola Egbesola explained that without a continuum administration, at best the Club would be a disjointed and uncoordinated development which might stunt rapid growth.

President Egbesola informed the Alake that his administration intended to make the Club truly cosmopolitan, such that it would be financially stable, adding that his leadership had decided not to be a beggar Club.

He lauded Sir Kesington Adebutu, a Patron of the Club for his enduring patronage for the ongoing construction of the 1,000 – 1,500 seater Hall, which is 35% done.

He reiterated that the Club planned to make the Hall the best in the environment, praying that the Alake, Oba Gbadebo would commission the edifice soon.

President Egbesola also appealed to Oba Gbadebo to help organize members in Diaspora, saying that the Club would need more assistance from the Alake to introduce more worthy Egba sons into the Club, promising to leave the Club better than they met it.

In his response, the Alake congratulated the Club for living up to his expectation.

The Egba Apex Monarch noted that the 1,500 Seater Hall, would add value to the strive of the Abeokuta Club to be self-sufficient, viable and be in the position to fulfill the aspiration of the current Exco to cater for many developments.

The Life Patron observed with satisfaction that the Club was luckier in terms of seamless electoral process and change of leadership which he said was always tough and energy sapping.

Oba Gbadebo promised to thank his friend and proverbial philanthropist, Sir Kesington Adebutu for his gesture in building 1,500 seater hall for the Club, while at the same time encouraging patriotic Egba sons and daughters to subscribe to the Club.

He wished and prayed that the current Executive, under the leadership of Mr. Olusola Egbesola would be a model to other administrations to come.
